Gala Dinner
Our Conference Dinner will take place in the heart of the historic University town of Garching bei München, just north of the city center. The dinner will provide all QD-2020 participants with the chance to enjoy real Bavarian hospitality in a wonderful location close to one of the largest research campuses of the TU-Munich, Max Planck Society and Bavarian Academy of Sciences (tours will be available before dinner). You’ll get the chance to sample typical Bavarian Beers – something the city of Munich is famous for – and enjoy traditional foods in a unique setting.
Catering will be provided by the Garchinger Augustiner and the all-in ticket price includes all food and drinks for the entire evening. Our gala dinner will be accompanied by traditional live music and an entertainment program to give all participants a wonderful opportunity to meet with old friends and colleagues and establish new collaboration partners.
Cultural Centers & Sightseeing Tours of Munich
Our schedule on the Wednesday afternoon is kept free to enable QD2020 participants to engage in sightseeing and cultural activities in the Bavarian capital. In Munich we are somewhat spoilt for choice with many world quality museums, castles and public parks to visit. Alternatively, you can take a historical tour of the city via bicycle, scooter or Segway or enjoy the sunshine in the English Garden. Whilst a quick look at the internet will provide you with many ideas to keep you busy, we illustrate below some of the diverse activities that you can choose.
